Personally, I'd recommend fetchmail. I enjoy the way it runs in the
background as a daemon. It requires a little configuration on you part at
the beginning, but after that it'll work in the background and check
periodically (a user specified time interval) your POP3 account. It will
move all new messages from there to the account on the BSD box you
specified...
You can find fetchmail in the pkg's on netbsd.org, I'm sure...
