I was using the NetBSD Mac68k -current snapshot. Which, according to Colin
Wood is a grave mistake:

I switched back to the 1.3.2 final. Everything runs fine. It is just wierd
that the current snaphot runs smooth as silk on the 68030 IIci w/ the
Diimo, but not on the Quadra 700. But what do I know, huh?
The Diimo is a 50mhz 68030 with an FPU and 64k SRAM cache.
