it doesnt seem to work on the quadra 950.  i have tried to use it so that
i could get a serial console and no go.  looking at the rom resources
on the q950, it seems fairly certain that small 'program' needs downloaded
to the iop's.  i would like to think that this code always gets loaded
into the iop's on boot and doesnt get cleared but i dont know enough
to verify this.  trying to use the serial ports on the q950 after booting
does cause it to hang (atleast in -current)

in the meantime, i just keep a q700 lying around in case i break it so
bad i can login over the network to fix it.
