I managed to build a new kernel!!  This first build, I didn't change
the generic kernel.  I just wanted to see if the building process would
work.

It worked, But I'm wondering why am I doing this? Will the computer run
much faster if I remove the unnecessary drivers??

Also, does anyone have any advice on what to change in the kernel
configuration?
