That's for sure. I bought a Nomai 540M a couple of years ago. While it
is possible to boot NetBSD from it, it is a little quirky and slow to
start.

The reason I would not recommend it is that the failure rate of the
cartridges is abominable. The 5 year warranty is practically useless
for me--I got the big runaround until I was told to contact Nomai
directly. I finally got an RA and sent them off to France (from
Chicago, I pay postage). Of the two I got back, one of them was DOA; 
I was able to fix the tab on the other with a screwdriver and hammer.

I was using it as a scratch drive, until -current devolved to where I
now can't access it at all. Not what you're looking for in a backup.
