port-mac68k: can't boot multi-user, was adding a disk

I managed to add some extra disk space on my interal
drive about a week ago, but now I can't boot multi-user.

When I try to  the machine hang right after it says:

starting system file checks

Or something like that.  Does any body know where to begin trouble
shooting this one?
