For what it's worth, I tried booting the GENERIC-100 kernel on my Performa
636 (with real 68040), and the system locked up even before it cleared the
screen. I tried with both the 1.11.3 and 1.11.4a1 Booters, and verified that
the previous kernel I had (GENERIC-95) booted with the same Booter config. Is
there anything different about this new kernel that requires different
settings in the Booter or something?
I guess my main curiosity on the new kernel was if the support for sn0 was
any better. Under GENERIC-95 if I try to boot off sn0 or ifconfig it once
booted off a SCSI device, the system locks up hard (can't drop into the
debugger or reboot with control-command-power). I'd love to do some hacking
with this box, but without ethernet or IDE it's kinda difficult.. =)
Thanks in advance.
Will Ferry
