Thank you, Chris Hoogendyk, for convincing me that multiple NICs will work
correctly in a Mac IIci. I've concluded that the "NuBus A Series" Ethernet
card is at fault for shutting down network services in NetBSD, despite
correctly recognizing Appletalk zones under Mac OS. Replacing the card
with a Farallon EtherMac-II card repaired the problem, and everything
works great now.
