Has anyone had any luck in compiling Octave using the packages collection? 


At a certain point during the make, BSD seems to freeze up (I can't connect
to the box using Netatalk, ftp, or telnet).  If I break the make with
control-c and start it again, it appears to complete the compile, but not
all of the necessary executables are actually corrected.
