Hello all,
I've noticed a minor bug in NetBSD 1.4, GENERIC kenel. I
occasionally will get no prompt, i.e., it will be suppressed. I'll just
get the carriage-return that I typed, on a blank line.
This would occasionally happen, and I would figure that my machine was
busy, but I discovered that this isn't so. If I type a command, it gets
executed just as though it were at a prompt, and just as soon. If the
prompt doesn't show up, a second tap on the [RETURN] key will usually
produce a prompt as usual.
Today it hapened as I connected via telnet. Although I got the
"NetBSD/mac68k..." line, I got no "login:" prompt below, and I thought
that my machine was hung up. After waiting for a while, I typed in my
username anyway, and after hitting RETURN was rewarded with the
"Password:" prompt, after which things proceeded normally.
Has anyone else noticed this? I didn't see anything about it in the
FAQ. I'm running on a Quadra 800 40/500+520.
