I'm new to the whole NetBSD experience so forgive my ignorance...
I've tried to get my Quadra 840av (128mb RAM/1.2GB HD) up and running with
NetBSD. The first time I installed the most recent release (1.4 I think).
It all worked fine. I had a friend help me set it all up and such
(configuring the rc.config and the network stuff) that went
well.
Unfortunately, when we attempted to get X working, we ran into an
error stating that the HD was full. But how could it if I only installed
the something like 300mb complete install. I set aside a 150mb Swap and
the rest of it was used for the usr and boot partitions.
So, I then wiped it and started all over with an older version of NetBSD
1.3.3; same problem. I type df and I get something like this...
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Avail Capacity Mounted on
/dev/sd1a 1829616333 1828878583 -182223884 111% /
kernfs 1 1 0 100% /kern
procfs 4 4 0 100% /proc
Before attempting another clean install I figured I would reach out for
some help and or advice. I'm being told I should look for another
kernel. I don't know what else to do. I was reading over some of the
earlier post (2 years ago) and there were few items that stated similar
occurances but that attributed them to bugs (I don't know if I'm looking
at the same situation).
If any one has any idea why this is happening I sure would like some way
to work around it. If anyone know of anyother kernels I should attempt to
use, I would also appreciate it. Please help...
Thanks,
