Hi:

I've been trying to get installed on a MacIIci, 20Mb RAM, 410Mb drive.

I have a 50 or 100mb partition for the Mac OS 7.5.3 and the rest is set
up currently in a Root/Usr partition and a 60Mb Swap partition.

I used FWB 3.0 to format and make the original partitions, then used the
application "Mkfs" to change and format the root/usr and swap
partitions.  All seemed to go well here.

The drive itself is on SCSI ID 6

I even got the Installer Application to inflate the three minimum .gz's
mentioned in the install instructions.

I finally got the right idea with the partitioning scheme ( /dev/sd0a,
etc... which was a tad different than the MkLinux I'd toyed with on my
8100, but that's another story) changed the name of the kernel to "bsd"
rather than "netbsd" since that looked like what I had there, and got
the booter to actually try booting.

During its startup, as it was checking everything, it would get to the
ADB and hang there....for quite some time.  I think I walked away for a
good 5-10 minutes and it just hung.  I tried resetting the IIci and
trying the boot again.  Same thing.

After a couple more restarts like this, I disconnected all the external
SCSI stuff (zip and syquest drive) and tried again.  This last time I
got kernel panic messages before it even got to checking the ADB.

Blech.  I decided to just get a clean start and hopefully a little
advice before starting over.  At this point, I've gotten the drive
repartitioned, and have gone through the Mkfs and installing base stuff
again...just have yet to actually get into the booter again.

Can anyone point out what I am missing or doing wrong here?  I thank you
in advance for any help/insight you can provide.
