Of course I _should_ have known this after reading all the
documentation. I never thought it could be SCSI related.

There is no kern_sbc.tgz in the NetBSD 1.4.2/mac68k
distribution sets, or at least I can't find any on
ftp.netbsd.org. There are SBC kernels though and I got one
working by booting it from a MacOS partition. The machine
seems to be working fine now. I'll do a reinstall from
scratch as you advised, because something might be broken.

This is a Quantum 235MB disk.
