Subject: 1.5ALPHA snapshot broken on Q700 & Q840AV

I had some time to try the GENERIC kernel in snapshot 1.5ALPHA-20000701 and have the following to report.

On my Q700, the internal video was not detected.

On my Q840AV, video was detected fine but keyboard was not taking.  At the prompt 'type shell or hit return for sh' nothing worked.  MGR didn't work either.
