I had the same problem. Using windows I went to the DOS prompt
and ftp'd directly to the host machine without adding the directory to
the path and it worked.
ftp ftp.linux.tucows.com
And then cd'd to the right directory.
I just checked again on the windows machine and it works from IE if I don't
put any extra path on to the URL but when I try to click on a directory
it gives me "This page cannot be displayed".
Let me know if you figure this on out.
