Actually, I thought it was because NetBSD/mac68k tends to have a lot of
clock-lossage due to the brain-dead interrupt arrangement.  We didn't
want to have NetBSD save the current time value back to PRAM when it was
quite likely several minutes or even hours behind real-time.
