I'm supposed to pick up my powerbook 190 from the repairshop this
afternoon. (You guessed it, screen troubles :) ) I'm a long-standing, but
not particularly competent linux user (I can get around, but sometimes I
take some time). I'd like to put a bsd on my laptop, because I figure I'll
get much better use out of it with just screen (I'm not a huge fan of X,
which is good because from what I can tell it's not supported).

o what bsd shall I run (open or net - I know this is religious, I'd
prefer openbsd because I will be using it for server duties, but I know
compatability might be an issue and saw no mention of pb190s on the
openbsd site)

o can I get it to run java? (want to use servlets)

o is it realistic to run java on it? (compile time, etc)

o is there a way of setting the machine up without nuking all the data on
my existing partition? (I'm suspecting not)

I've been subscribed to the list for a few weeks and haven't seen any
mention of any of this, so hope the questions are in spirit of the list.
