Sorry to confuse the issues of which pins to connect (7 and 10 or 4 and 11).
I couldn't see the numbers on the VGA port, since it is buried deep in a
rack-mountable box...

Mind you, when I tried it, neither a paperclip nor a small resistor between
either port combination actually worked on my LC III. I don't want to use
solder. Maybe I'll just buy an adaptor.
