Roger's note is well-put. I just joined the list today, because I've
pulled 2 cxs out of the dustbin. What else am I accomplishing?
I'm increasing the entropy of the universe (a favorite pastime of mine).
I'm learning NetBSD where there was and would have been none before
in my brain.
I've contributed to the economy by buying a couple of parts on eBay to
get the cxs going again.
I've put 2 old junkbin machines to excellent and relevant use
(ultimately they will be network sniffers).
I'm watching less TV.
I'm learning that things are done a bit differently from Linux - what
I find out is causing me to learn more about Linux, as well
as BSD. Net result is more value to whoever decides to pay me. Net
result is more pay.
I've become wizened and patient as a result of 10-hour compiles, and
learned to go do other useful stuff while the 030s are a-smokin'.
I've found that cxs look cool with blue LEDs as drive lights.
I've had enough fun that I'm refurbishing 2 6100s and am going to try
OpenBSD and all of the above will be propagated again.
Works for me...
