It would help to see your .xsession.  Make sure you don't have '&' after
the line starting your window manager (and have that last).

I don't *think* so.  Someone was working on frame buffer support for
internal video systems, but I don't know what the current state of his
code is.

I was about to ask if you've tried dillo.  It's probably one of the
faster ones for getting compiled and for running.
