Hello to all,
it came the moment... to upgrade my quadra 610 to 1.6, after it was
running 1.5ZA quite fine.
I used sysinst over the existing partition so it was a clean install,
not an upgrade. The installer booted fine and installed everything. I halted
the machine regularly.
I have installed the GENERIC kernel and all the rest.
I reboot, use tthe same settings as the old booter (except using
2.0-something) and start a new boot. I leave the quadra unattended, after
some minutes i get a white screen. No keyboard response, only the NMI switch
gets a debugger, no usable keyboarrd. SO I reboot and watch closely the
screen. It seems to boot, HW parameters like RAM seem correctly recognized.
it comes up to the file-system and them launches an MMU trap after an
uvw_fault().
At the third attempt it finally booted to a prompt!
A new attempt.. blank screen. This happens right after the last message on
the mac side ("so i sez him...")
