They may be identical looking, but IIRC, the VRAM slots are 64 pin vs the 
System RAM are 72 pin. You won't be able to insert normal 72 pin EDO or 
non-EDO ram into them.

But, you should be able to snag some used VRAM cheap on ebay or the Low 
End Mac swap list.
