Remember though, if you're installing you need to preserve permissions as the install doc says or lots of things may be broken(I'm not sure what exactly but it's better to be safe).
So instead do the same thing with the -p flag to tar
for i in *.tgz
do
tar -xvzpf $i -C/
done

It's easy to fix.
You and either use the sysinst 'upgrade' or you can unload the tarball by
hand:
for i in *.tgz
do
tar -xvzf $i -C/
done
Of course, you can specify '[m-z]*.tgz' if you'd rather not redo the ones
you've already done.
