While this may not be related to your current problem: If you use ipfilter
you definitely want the netbsd-2 branch (2.1.x) since the ipfilter version
in 2.0 has major "issues" with dropping state at random. AFAIK ipfilter has
not (yet?) been updated on netbsd-2-0.
