Hi, Just following up on my original post.... I was able to get NetBSD
booting and running just fine on my color classic mystic. I tried playing
around with SCSI termination on my devices, partitioning and installed a few
different versions of NetBSD using both the system and traditional
methods..all without success. I was still getting the boot failure. Anyway I
feel quite stupid but the solution was just to simply set the Machine ID to
92 in the NetBSD/Mac68k Booter options. This is the ID for a 57x with
640X480 (see http://colourclassicfaq.com/mobo/mystic.shtml). I hadn't tried
ID 92 as I have not undertaken the VGA modification to my color classic so I
assumed wrongly that this would not work. I had only tried ID 99 which is
for a 57x without 640x480. Anyway ID 92 works and I now delving into the
world of NetBSD. I thought I would post this so that no one else makes the
same simple but frustrating mistake I made with NetBSD on the color classic
mystic.

Subject: NetBSD boot failure on Color Classic Mystic.

Hi,

I am hoping someone might be able to give me some guidance on installing
NetBSD on a color classic with a LC575 motherboard (that has been upgraded
with full 68040 chip with FPU) ie a color classic mystic. After installing
NetBSD when I try to boot and I am getting a kernel: Bus error trap. I have
tried both NetBSD 2.0.2 and 1.6.2 and get the same effect.

My configuation is

Color Classic with LC575 motherboard (original chip has been replaced with a
full 68040 chip ie incl. FPU)
36 Meg Ram.
9 gig hard drive on SCSI ID 2
LCPDS Ethernet

Partitions:
Mac Driver 16k
NetBSD Root 950meg
NetBSD Usr 950meg
NetBSD Swap 128meg

Followed by the following Mac Partitions:
MacHD 2gig (contains system 7.1)
HD2 2 gig
HD3 2 gig
HD4 2 gig

I have also tried partition the drive with a Net BDS Root&User partition
rather then individual root and user partitions, a swap partition and only a
small Mac partition for booting and this had not effect on the boot errors.

Text from the screen that freezes up at booting:

cpu: delay factor 1051

Registers:

I also included the bootlog below if that helps. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks Justin
