There you are... 3.0.1 is 3 plus fixes for security issues and fatal bugs.
For "practical purposes 3.0.1 is as old as 3, and a long way back from 3.1,
which has seen a lot of bug fixes in the recent months.

That's most likely from sysint trying to dump core to the install kernel
ramdisk.

It makes another: I see both the INSTALLSBC kernel and the installed
GENERICSBC kernel panic at shutdown.

I tried an install over ftp yesterday, which went with surprising speed
(450 KByte/sec, it said, but discount the slow clock of mac68k), and
successful apart from the mentioned panic.
