Now that you mention it... jmmv had patches for mac68k generic framebuffer support a while back, see <http://mail-index4.netbsd.org/port-mac68k/2007/08/30/0018.html> ff. I think the patches are still somewhere on ftp.netbsd.org, but the project petered out in late 2007. I guess it was supposed to bring vanilla Xserver support for the Mac; don' know about colour, though.
