more 5.1 woes

The CC on which the standard 2.1 kernel installed and worked fine does 
not like the standard 5.1 sysinst kernel, as mentioned previously. I 
installed with the SBC sysinst, but when rebooting from the HD the 
kernel panics. It happens right after checking the system clock and 
telling me it is wrong (because the battery is dead).
