Subject: Backspace Key Doesn't Work Properly

Howdy,

When I boot into either 1.4.2 or 1.5 alpha, use of the
delete-backspace/erase key or the del key gives the following output:

^[[3~

Does this in X too. I've tried changing terminal types.

I'm using an apple adb keyboard on a 9500. Console output to a PCI video card.

What's the secret to making the erase key work?
