Howdy,
I just got Xfree working on my pismo, and it's not funny how much better it
is than the OF Xmacppc. Thanks, Tsubai-san!
I was just wondering if this will make it into the 1.5.1 distribution.
That is, how much effort should I put into documenting how to install it?
Also, I was wondering if anyone knew how to get /chaos/control video
devices to work with XFree? Is there some sort of open firmware
framebuffer stub in XFree that we could use? If not, then will we have two
X distributions for macppc (XFree for newer macs, and Xmacppc for older)?
And, could people send me their XF86Config files and what model of mac
they're using so I can add these to the FAQ. Personally, I was baffled by
having to figure out how to tell XF86 to use the Rage128, even though it
recognized it. It's the only X server I've ever used that wouldn't run
unless I explicitly told it what to do. Annoying.
Thanks!
