I've got one of these beasties and it's been a trip playing with it
in OF. It's not that OF *works* you understand. I can't get it to
respond to the 4-finger salute (c-o-OF), but System Disk works OK.
I've found that removing both batteries and the power cord will reset
PRAM nicely (c-o-PR doesn't), but then you need to reboot MacOS a
couple of times before System Disk will work.
Devalias shows atapi1 as pointing at the right media bay and a "boot
atapi1:1,OFWBOOT.XCF -a" will spin the CD a bit and then boot MacOS.
Same thing with the official iso image and a custom one I made with
just the minimum ISO level 1 features (hmmm no ;1 version numbers
though). What I find especially odd is that it clears the screen to
the alternating pixel grey background immediately before has a chance
to do much with the CD. Then a bit later it gives me the happy Mac
after giving up on the CD.
Anyone got any suggestions for variations that might get me into
NetBSD? Should I have left the partition off or included an @0 or
@1? I wasn't religious about the xxxx-base settings, but I know the
command I listed above was tried with those set properly.
