Hi all.
I'm installing NetBSD 1.6Z from the premade floppy images onto a Performa
6400 with no video. I have set the OpenFirmware over serial console. So, at
this point Mac HD has Mac OS 9 on it and the floppy disk I'm using is
standard NetBSD Mac PPC install floppy. When I boot I get this:
Open Firmware, 2.0
To continue booting the MacOS type:
BYE<return>

then no more.
I have tried "use-nvramrc? false", I have tried taking out the 3com Card and
resetting the motherboard and I've spent hours in front of google looking
for an answer to this problem. Every time it gets to zstty0 at zsc0 channel
0 I get a strange character afterwards (not always a ú) I have tried with
1.5.whateveritwas aswell and it reset the Mac after zstty0 at zsc0 channel
0.
I figured NetBSD was switching terminals away from ttya and I read somewhere
that typing "s" at the first prompt in the installer would dump me into a
shell. I hope someone can confirm this and tell me a command to type (blind)
at the shell to get my console back.
That said I also tried typing "s" (then return) followed by shutdown -r now
and nothing happened. I expected a reboot.
I'm totally lost and fairly frustrated, any help will be very much
appreciated.
