What does ofwboot.xcf know?

All,

I am toying with a B/W G3/400 with ahc(4)... and what little documentation
there is for ofwboot does not say anything about how the loader finds the
kernel on the NetBSD root partition.

In particular: What file systems does it handle? I set up an LFS formatted
root partition, but its kernel is not found.
