Did you connect the power cable on the Acards?   If you bought them new,
then you should have the power cable and the instructions and such an
error is unlikely.

However, there's been a fellow selling them on Ebay for a while at $30
each but they're used and have no power cables.   It would be easy enough
to assume that they would draw their power from the bus and not realize
that the Acard adapter needs a four pin power connector such as is used on
floppy drives in the PC world.
