This particular monitor is a couple of years old, but I would not
say it is from the previous ice age... I tried a monitor I bought
last year, but no success there either, although the dmesg changed
to say:

Well, that at least confirms (again) that radeonfb still uses OF-
provided EDID data. Sorry, I have no idea why it fails to actually
program the right video mode - I didn't write radeonfb and I don't
have access to radeon docs.
