Make sure ofwboot and the kernel are in the lower 128GB, the kernel  
itself will be able to use the whole disk even if OF and Mac OS X  
aren't.
That's in my GigE G4:
wd1 at atabus0 drive 1: <ST3160023A>
wd1: drive supports 16-sector PIO transfers, LBA48 addressing
wd1: 149 GB, 310101 cyl, 16 head, 63 sec, 512 bytes/sect x 312581808  
sectors
wd1: drive supports PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2, Ultra-DMA mode 5 (Ultra/100)

Not unless you manage to get a SATA card with OF-support in ROM. I'm  
sure there are some but they will probably be expensive.
