Not that I know of. But there's a lot I don't know about macppc,
especially not-totally-ancient macppc. cpuctl might be worth checking.

It does seem plausible, especially in view of my machine working fine,
with its L2 cache being reported as disabled.
Did you see my note about /dev/null?
