Has anyone else upgraded from a patched 6.0.4 to 6.0.5 via sysupgrade?

I foolishly did this "live" and now cannot log in. "pam_start" fails,
and there are apparently some security .so files missing. Since I can't
log in, I have to boot from CD to chase this down.

Is there a known simple fix for this?
