hi folks..

can someone tell me what 'cc .. -G 0' does in the kernel makefiles?  i've
had problems with this flag with egcs (the rest of userland, bar one minor
problem that doesn't actually break anything, works) .. i removed it and
i've managed to build a pmax kernel... (fails to link so far, though :)
