NetBSD 9.1 Cobalt RestoreCD/RestoreUSB
Dear Cobalt users,
I've updated and put cobalt restorecd images for NetBSD/cobalt 9.1:
https://cdn.NetBSD.org/pub/NetBSD/arch/cobalt/restore-cd/9.1/
- restorecd-9.1-20201024.iso.gz is a gzipped RestoreCD ISO9660 image.
- restoreusb-9.1-20201024.img.gz is a gzipped RestoreUSB image
for >=800MiB USB memory sticks on USB bootable PCs.
From this 9.1 based version, I've changed the RestoreCD/USB to
use sshd(8) for root login to the target cobalt client from the
i386 server, rather than via deprecated rlogind(8) or telnetd(8).
You no longer have to edit rlogind(8) and telnetd(8) settings
in /etc/inetd.conf and /etc/ttys etc. after installation to disable
root login. Instead, only /etc/ssh/sshd_config needs to be edited.
See also "Restore CD/USB Howto" for actual installation procedures:
https://www.NetBSD.org/ports/cobalt/restorecd-howto.html
Restorecd script changes are available on my github:

Have fun,
---
