I have a 14.4k modem running my SLIP link on a 19.2K serial line.
It has worked just fine for me.

BUT, I do know that the serial driver needs a lot of work.  Phil B has
already done some work that I intend to get into the tree soon.  Just
last night I got -current working again for me with config.new and the
most recent version of the generic scsi code.  There a couple of other
little things on my ToDo list first, but the serial driver is almost
on the top of my list.
