Hello Ted,
Hello James,
Hello all
Yesterday I installed the minirootsystem on a small Hard drive (Quantum
LPS52S ). Is wasn't easy, but it wasn't impossible too. Wich partition
shoul be the root partition? In the examples you gave me, it seemed to be
the d partition. When I made the d - partition root partition I wasn't
able to boot. So I overlayed a-partition to d-partition. That worked. With
the rest of the drive I wanted to build an other filesystem. First I've
choosen the b-partition, but then I wasnt able to make newfs (or to mount?
I don't know anymore). Then I overlayed b and g partition and it worked.
You should give the hint, that the name of the kernel ist netbsd. Because
I have to know that to boot the machine.
Now some more questions:
Is there an X System, that works on the DECstatin 2100 under NetBSD?
Can I compile the MIT sources under NetBSD? Is it better to take X11R5 or
X11R6?
How do I subscribe to your mailing list port-pmax@NETBSD.ORG?
I hope my english is not too bad. Did you understand everything, I've
written?
Thank's a lot for the help you already gave me, and thank's a lot for
your future help.
Goodbye from Karlsruhe
