I was finally able to dd the GENERIC kernel to a spare hard drive and =
tried to boot it on my DECstaion 5000/120. It got to the line that read =
something like:
Using xxx buffers containing xxx bytes of memory
It then changed the cursor to the white insert block and hung. The =
kernel was the latest GENERIC kernel in the snapshot directory as of =
about three weeks ago.
Would switching back to the 1.2 release kernel have any chance of =
fixing the problem? Or is there some hardware conflict? Or...something =
else?
