I'm guessing the drive will not work with the Atari - check this page:

At the bottom of the page it says "Note: The RZ55 & RZ56 do not have a
jumper for Spin-Up Option. They require a Host Adapter that
automatically issues the SCSI Spin-up Command durring Boot-Up."

I'd guess that "SCSI Initiator" is the same as "SCSI Spin-up Command."
