Do you have a "boot.pmax" in the root partition as well? bootxx_cd9660
only knows enough to look for "boot.pmax" - it's "boot.pmax" that
does the work of loading the kernel itself.
BTW, you should be able to type just
boot 5/rz5
The default kernel name is "netbsd.pmax".
