Well, I did as you said, tweaked my kernel config file a bit and
succesfully built a new kernel.

But however now, I can login in with telnet, I got these in the logs:

inetd[147]: pmap_set: 100002 3 17 65532: No message of desired type

and never gets an login prompt.

What could cause this?
