 OK, since it looks like you can boot at least to the single user mode, 
then I suggest just to sort out the buggy delay slot scheduling instead -- 
the trap debugging feature will be of no use here.

 If people agree on removing the `.set noreorder' directive (note that it 
will affect all MIPS ports, not only pmax, though the change is supposed 
to be functionally neutral, which can perhaps be verified with `objdump 
-d'), then I can do the grunt work and send an upstream candidate patch -- 
that won't be much hassle to me as that's the kind of stuff I deal with on 
a daily basis.  People can then put this through whatever regression 
testing is required for acceptance -- regrettably while I have various 
pieces of pmax hardware I'm not set up for such software testing and if I 
were to deal with that, then it would only delay things unnecessarily.

 Is there a preferred format for such a submission described somewhere?
