Indeed, this is the result of a somewhat speedy split of the processor
vs. machine specific code.  There is quite a bit more code that can be
shared between the various powerpc ports.  Actually, I'm working on it,
since I'm currently trying to integrate another powerpc port into the
tree, and I'd like to reduce code duplication.  However, time is the
main problem here... (wouldn't you have known already ;-/).
