Re: Pegasos port status
Hi Allen. :)
Have you seen this:
http://www.power.org/members/developers/downloads/genesi_pegasosppc
The Pegasos schematics are there for download. You have to join as a
FREE Developer Member first, but they are there and you can get them.

Genesi just joined the Board of Directors of Power.org and there are
a few new things about to happen. In the meanwhile, you are welcome
to join these Developer Programs as well:

We would like to see more NetBSD participation (the hardware is free
if you are approved) - especially for the EFIKA which will be used
for this effort:

Best regards,

FWIW, I also have Pegasos box. I haven't had a chance to seriously
look at porting to it. I'll point out that it is much easier to
work from documentation than trying to reverse-engineer what other
people have done. I have run into several cases where open source
folks have written incorrect code--whether through misreading docs
or through having to guess when docs aren't available or easily
obtainable. While it's possible to get things "working", these
mistakes can lead to "inexplicable" behavior and kludges to "fix"
the problems. I'm not saying that would be the case here--just
that Matt's desire for the real docs is not unreasonable...
Also FWIW, I've run into plenty of developer documentation that
was wrong, too. And a few places where schematics weren't updated,
too. So nothing's perfect, but even with a few errors here or
there, docs/schematics are far better than the lack of them.
