There are a few that are pretty easy to forget. One such driver is
pic_cpc700. To illustrate my point, I wrote that driver, and had
completely forgotten about it's existence until Frank mentioned it
in the
initial email.
Maybe, when we always call them "pic_something.c", we should be
able to find
all of them easily in a few seconds:
frank@jaana find . -name "pic_*.c"
./bebox/bebox/pic_bebox.c
./evbppc/pmppc/pic_cpc700.c
./macppc/macppc/pic_heathrow.c
./macppc/macppc/pic_ohare.c
./powerpc/marvell/pic_discovery.c
./powerpc/pic/pic_i8259.c
./powerpc/pic/pic_openpic.c
./powerpc/pic/pic_prepivr.c
./powerpc/pic/pic_soft.c
./powerpc/pic/pic_distopenpic.c
./rs6000/rs6000/pic_iocc.c
Or, as a compromise - throw them into <arch>/pic/pic_* if there are
architectures that use more than 2 private PIC types.
Also, I don't have a problem with moving PIC drivers that aren't
100.1% MD - if there's the slightest chance we might need them on
another arch they should probably go to powerpc/pic right away. This
doesn't apply to macppc's though, unless someone wants to run ofppc
on a new world mac ( which actually might just work, and some of them
use Heathrow PICs ) ;)
have fun
Michael
